Some of my favorite backyard family sessions are with the Reddings. This family has turned into a wonderful, unexpected friendship and I am so thankful for them. They live about an hour away, and I deeply wish they lived ten minutes down the road. Our kids are all the same ages, and we are cut from the same cloth…I would just love to have them in my life more often! I met them years ago when Kara was pregnant with their second child (you can find that blogpost here), and have had the honor of photographing them a couple more times since then!

I always get excited when I see an email from the Redding family in my inbox. There are families that have hired me multiple times through the years; You have no idea how special that is for me as a photographer, a business owner, and a mother. I love watching their babies grow as more babies join the family throughout the years! It is the highest compliment to have someone rehire you as a photographer. I’m always so thankful when I have the honor of photographing someone more than once or in a different phase of life!

This family session takes place in my backyard. It’s been a theme of my blog posts lately, I know. But as you can see below, the light is just so great! It’s a simple location where the focus is on you and your people. I love going to new places and spaces, but there is beauty to photographing in such a simple space like this, too. I will be blogging about this family again in the coming weeks because she is pregnant with their fourth baby and is due so soon!!
