In-home family sessions have my heart. I want to scream it from the mountain tops and convince every mother that she needs one. Moms need photos taken in the place you spend all your time. The place you bring your babies home to from the hospital. Where all the teaching, loving, molding, and shaping occurs.

You probably won’t live in this exact home forever. Their little laughs and the pitter patter of small feet won’t always be. I always get push back with “But Bri, my house isn’t ___ enough.” But it is. It doesn’t have to be big, updated, all white, or in perfect order. It just has to be the place you do life in!

This Lancaster in-home family session was booked long before the Ernst family ever knew that they would be leaving this home. It made this photo session extra special as their house hit the market shortly after our time together. The Ernst family poured so much sweat into making this space theirs. They brought their babies home here. They dreamed here. She planted that willow tree in her backyard envisioning her children growing and playing underneath it.

I am so thankful I was able to savor this time of life in this house before they move onto their next adventure. I work alongside this momma professionally at weddings, and I’m honored she chose me to photograph her family.
