I'm Brianna. Pennsylvania based wedding + portrait photographer. My hair is typically in a messy bun, I usually have a baby on my hip, and I never say no to cake. I want photographs to feel as good as they look, and my overly sentimental, married, momma heart knows the weight of soulful photographs all too well.
I’ve been a Mechanicsburg Family Photographer for quite some time, and it’s no secret that I put a lot of focus on mothers during family sessions. I feel called to serve them more than any other. I know she has spent a lot of time thinking through this portrait session with me. Oftentimes she has shopped, coordinated, and moved schedules around just to be here. I know their day has been structured around getting everyone ready to leave on time while juggling schedules and naps to make it all line up perfectly.
The mommas are usually the ones to plan the meals, shop for the food, wipe the kitchen down multiple times a day, fold this, pick up that, “Do we read the bible enough? Do I have them in enough things or too many things?” Write this down on the to do list, schedule that appointment, answer the endless questions from the little growing minds, hug their little bodies, nurse the baby.
Mothering is many things. It is hard things, beautiful things, and a lot of both at once. I want her to feel seen, feel beautiful, and feel loved amidst the ones she loves and serves most. That is why I put a lot of thought into photographing the mother at family sessions.
PS: Amanda’s dress was from Nothing Fits But. These dresses are designed to be worn before and after pregnancy!
