This family is so special to me. Heavens, I feel like I say that a lot. When the Edmons came to my home in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania last year, it was under construction in this very field. They stayed until dark and we played around in what little was there of a house.

I remember feeling like, “this is why we are building this place.” It hasn’t even been a year since we moved in, but we’ve spent time with so many families in our yard and in our house. We dreamed our home to be a place of gathering, and despite nothing being completely finished or decorated….it really is just that: a gathering place.

I am so thankful that I get to see the Edmons family right in my backyard again this fall. I’m also excited that I will have an official bathroom for them to use if need be… oh, and electricty! I’m honored that they drive all the way to little Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania for their family photos. It is also an honor to photograph families once, let alone several times, let alone traveling a long ways to get to me. It is something I do not take lightly. I think this session is a perfect example of not needing much for family photos. You just need your people and a simple space.
