It is no secret that I’m not a city girl. I love living on six acres in the middle of an old farm, so I’m not about that street parking, downtown, loud life. But… the New York City skyline was a treat, even for me, at Annie + Matt’s wedding at Liberty House in Jersey City.

I actually love shooting city weddings, even if you’ll never find me living in one! Photographing in Philadelphia or Lancaster City is something I enjoy BECAUSE it is so different from my personal life.

I know my way around a farm wedding pretty dang well, but city weddings are truly enjoyable for me. I love the city lights, various backdrops, and all the nook & cranny locations we stumble upon.

Sometimes, my clients will express concern if I have never been to or seen their venue. But let me assure you, I have done this many times. I have hopped on a plane and flown to entirely different states, just to get out and photograph at a venue I’ve never been to! 

It is my job as a professional wedding photographer to scan a location quickly, find where good light and beautiful places intersect, and jump to work.

Do not be nervous to hire me simply because I haven’t been to your venue before: I thrive in new places!
